Date Slice

1 cup of quick oats
1 cup of shredded coconut
1 cup of wholemeal plain flour
1 cup of warm water
1 spoon full of honey

Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
Press into a greased flat dish.
Bake in a moderate oven for 10 - 20 min.

1 packet (500g) of dates
Juice of 3 oranges
Rind of 1 orange (grated finely)
2 cups of water
1.5 - 2 cups of coconut

Place dates, orange juice, orange rind & water in a saucepan.
Simmer until dates are soft enough to mash with a fork.
Remove from heat and add coconut.
Spread over cooked base & sprinkle with coconut.
